Kitty Island
I once told my husband that saving for retirement was pointless. He made a simple suggestion: create a retirement goal to make my 401K seem more relevant & important in my life.
I’m a short-term, impulsive thinker; however, I decided that my retirement goal is to reduce the pet population and rescue abandoned animals. I haven’t written a business plan, but I envision some kind of “kitty and doggy” island where stray, abused & neglected animals benefit from my years of toiling in Human Resources.
So welcome to kitty island. You’ve stumbled upon a repository of awesome kitten photos that chronicle my experience as an orphan-kitten-foster parent in preparation for my retirement plans. Enjoy!

Oh man, I might be going through kitten withdrawal.
We found an adopter for our final Muppet Baby, today. Pepé will be going to a new home, this week.
Six kittens in sixty days. It should be the title of my next book.

A little castration in the morning doesn’t get in the way of being adorable and frisky.
They’re too busy to notice that they’ve been neutered. They are going to a wonderful home on Friday. It is so bittersweet.September 17th, 2007
Oh my god. Everyone has a home except Pepé. Don’t you feel sorry for him? Don’t you just want to adopt him?

We are attending our first adoption event, today! We even made a sign for the cage! muppetbabies.pdf
I’m so nervous for them & I hope we find good adopters who will be kind to my kittens. Only two more weeks until they are eligible to be neutered and to go to a “forever home.” Time flies and I’ll be sad to see them go.

Kitties are five days old and almost too cute for words. They don’t look like future cats, though. They look like gerbils. They are eating every four hours. This endeavor reminds me of why I don’t have kids.
The kitties will be available for adoption beginning in seven weeks. You can adopt one sooner, but they can’t go “home” until they are spayed & neutered.
There are six kitties. One is buried underneath the others — you can see his head!

These are my orphaned kittens — The Muppet Babies.
- There are six of them: five boys and one girl.
- I began fostering them at five days of age after their Mom was shot by some guy with a fully legal & licensed gun. (Thanks, buddy.)
- I began bottle feeding the kittens on July 30th, 2007.
- Scroll up from the bottom to see the evolution of our story.
SixFive FourOne needs a good home! It’s Pepé!- Email me if you are interested in adopting one of these babies!
