I always end the year by writing about my accomplishments, failure, regrets, and resolutions. I love this time of year because the calendar naturally moves me to reflect and take action. This post is all about 2021 resolutions.

I resolve not to get COVID-19 and die.

Shit, did I jinx myself? Dammit, if you’re looking back at this post, know this: it’s Donald Trump’s fault. He lied about the virus, bungled the response, and messed up the vaccine rollout. Put this in my obituary even if I get hit by a truck.

Here’s what I truly believe: Resolutions are just goals by another name. Yes, make goals for the new year. But make goals for the middle of April when you’re worn out and not safeguarding your wellbeing.

Every day is a do-over. As long as you live and breathe, you can change your life. Here’s to a better 2021, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Here’s to a better Friday.

Love,

Laurie
